A broken sewer line can result in sewage rising to the surface which not only will have a foul odor it would also be a biohazard with the potential to make people ill.

Are sewage breaks obvious?

Not always! Sometimes there is a small break with a slow leak and it could be hard to tell. This leak will slowly weaken the surface and cause it to sink or the odor can be smelled but the signs won’t be obvious.
